about me
My journey to becoming a retreat chef started as a young teenager with a natural flair and passion for cooking for friends and family. It was only to be expected that I would start a career in hospitality, eventually opening up my own licensed café in northwest London in 2006, which offered a home-from-home dining experience, including handcrafted afternoon teas and patisserie.
During these 13 years of restaurant ownership, I discovered a love of yoga and experienced for myself the intrinsic connection between healthy, mindful eating and wellness. This ignited my love affair with all things plant-based and, in particular, influenced my cooking style.
Having sold the business in 2019, I am now based in my home town of Brighton, where we are lucky to have such a vibrant food-scene which continues to be a constant source of inspiration.
Returning to Brighton was a very natural draw; I grew up here and always found great solace in the landscape of the South Downs and its coastline. I am forever grateful for my life by the sea and the opportunities this new chapter brings.
so why the dragonfly chef?
Dragonflies have become a bit of a motif for me in the past few years, symbolising change, rebirth, transformation, happiness, courage, good luck and insight. If these symbols were ingredients this would be the ‘mise en place’ of my personal and professional journey in the last few years.
based in Sussex, working across the UK
The work I do is a privilege and joy and is an expression of my most authentic self. Feeding people with creative, wholesome and nourishing meals always brings so much reward and pleasure.
I am pleased to be offering my services as a plant-based chef to the health and wellness communities within Sussex and throughout the UK.
